Hitchhiking to the Lake District: Photos

From Edgware Station in North London, through service stations in London and Derby to Ilkley.

But then a lengthy hiatus after Skipton, where I tried and failed to hitch on a barge. Walking was quicker...

Once in Keswick, though, I was in the elements. Deer, lakes and open-air sleeping arrangements.

But the next day, low-level cloud hung around the slopes of Scafell Pike and ascent was impossible (or at least improbable, given my cheap trainers).

So I popped home again, hitching through the Lake District, Warrington and thence home.

Lovely!
