Emmanuel Essien, Gooner Poet

Two weeks ago (19/4/2006) a Nigerian chap by the name of Emmanuel Essien posted this on the BBC Website in the build-up to the first leg of the Arsenal - Villareal European Semi-Final (I have taken the liberty of inserting line-breaks where appropriate):

"I wrote a song for the Gunners:

Arsenal, ride through the forest storm where no one
else can come to taste what's within your palm,
and return with the grace and glory of a champion,
European champion
...Yet remain the same old same old Arsenal."

Today (25/4/2006), hours before the kick-off of the second leg he's back!

"After my last song worked so well I would like to write another one -

Once more, Arsenal,
once more challenge these warriors,
go forth with head held high,
with proud shoulders, proud shoulders bearing arms,
to grasp in your arms that which is only yours to win.
'One nil', cry the crowd,
'one-nil to the Arsenal, that's two-nil on aggregate
and a final place in Paris."

Catchy, eh?
