Bombs For Badgers
[Badgers] are being blamed for the continuing upsurge in [bovine tuberculosis].
Yet the [RSPCA] insist it’s only a small minority of [badgers] that are the problem.
The [RSPCA] warn that we run the severe risk of turning [badgers] into scapegoats in the war on [bovine tuberculosis].
Government spending in the war on [bovine tuberculosis] has risen from [£38.2 million] in the years before 2001 to [£90.5 million] last year.
[Farmers] say the only solution is to gas the ‘critters’ from ‘outta their holes’.
But disastrous campaigns so far have shown that killing [badgers] in one area just means that [badgers] from other areas will move in to fill the vacuum.
To date, the government has spent [£34 million] and killed over [12,000] [badgers] in the name of [research].
This has led government advisors to say that a [badger cull] would only be effective over large areas, very systematically and for a long period of time.
They further state that a [badger cull] would not be the most cost effective way of combating [bovine tuberculosis] given that [cattle movement] outweighs all other factors in predicting outbreaks of [bovine tuberculosis].
But [farmers] are refusing to comply with existing laws preventing [cattle movement] without seeing a commitment to a full scale [badger cull].

[bovine tuberculosis] with [terrorism]
[research] with [democracy]
[cattle movement] with [rampant imperialism]
[badger cull] with [holy war]
[farmers] with [right wing fundamentalist presidents and their allies]
